This draw had fewer candidates and a somewhat higher CRS requirement than Alberta’s previous Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw earlier this month.
Since resuming invitation rounds in January 2021, Alberta has invited 2,432 Express Entry candidates to file for a provincial nomination. In the latter months of 2020, it went on a brief halt.
In 2021, Alberta will be able to award 6,250 nomination certificates. A provincial nomination is not guaranteed to everyone who is invited to apply. Some people may not complete the application or may not meet the eligibility requirements. Similarly, not everyone who receives a nomination will become permanent residents, despite the fact that the vast majority do.
Create a profile in the Express Entry system as the first step.
The Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program all use Express Entry as their application management system.
You will be given a score based on the Comprehensive Ranking System if you are eligible for Express Entry (CRS). You earn points based on your age, education, work experience, English or French language skills, and other things.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Canada’s immigration service, organises Express Entry drawings on a regular basis, inviting the top-scoring individuals to apply for permanent residency.
It is possible to immigrate without a provincial nomination through the Express Entry system; however, persons with lower CRS scores may choose to apply for a PNP. Provincial nominees receive an automatic 600-point boost to their overall score. If the lowest-scoring candidates in the new Alberta lottery are nominated, their new CRS scores will be 900, which will be more than enough to be invited to the next Express Entry draw.
Eligibility for the Alberta Express Entry Stream
You must have work experience in a relevant occupation to be eligible for a provincial nomination under the Alberta Express Entry stream. The AINP does not provide a list of occupations that are eligible for the stream; instead, it provides a list of occupations that are not.
Food service supervisors, transport truck drivers, and cooks are among the jobs available to those who apply under this stream.
Your Express Entry profile should reflect your desire to relocate to Alberta. Certain characteristics, such as work experience or a job offer in Alberta, boost your chances of getting nominated. A Canadian education is also beneficial. If you have a parent, child, or sibling who is a permanent resident or citizen of Alberta, it will aid your application.
The purpose of this PNP is to promote the province’s economic diversification and development goals.
