Future immigrants and their agents applying for Ontario’s provincial immigration programme (PNP) have been given more detailed guidelines.
Applicants for admission to Ontario must submit fully completed applications to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Applications may be returned if certain elements are missing.
The province claims that accepting just complete applications for its Provincial Nominee Program reduces processing times (PNP).
Candidates for Ontario Express Entry and Expressions of Interest should follow the new requirements for submitting complete applications.
Streams of Express Entry in Ontario
If you’re applying through Express Entry and have a foreign education, you’ll require an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to earn education points.
On its official website, Ontario specifically mentions World Education Services (WES). However, this isn’t the only agency tasked with evaluating credentials. On its website, the federal government maintains a list of approved services.
According to the province, you must provide WES permission to share a copy of your ECA with the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.
To do so, go online and request a “extra report” of your ECA report. Then, as the recipient, choose the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.
It is not enough to provide WES permission to disclose the results of your evaluation with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in order to apply for a provincial nomination in Ontario.
If you do not provide WES permission to share the information with the OINP, your application will be returned as incomplete and your application fee will be refunded. Unless you get a new notification of interest from Ontario, you will forfeit your chance to apply to the programme.
You must send a PDF copy of the Attestation Form if you are applying under the Employer Job Offer stream. It should be printed, signed in ink by the applicant, and uploaded to the Supporting Documents tab under “Other.”
If there is no signed PDF copy of the attestation form, Ontario will return the application as incomplete and refund the application fee. Unless you register a new EOI and receive a fresh invitation to apply for a provincial nomination, you will forfeit your chance to apply to the programme.
